Vote Voice 2.0
Friday, November 22, 2024
Vote Voice 2.0 allows your visitors to vote and voice their opinion on anything you want -- a page, a web site, a product, or whatever you want -- in just one click!
There are two options: stays on your visitor's browser at all times and can blink in intervals (optional) if you want to make it more noticable, or stay in one location on your site (where you put it).
Features of Vote Voice 2.0:
- Unlimited vote files can be specified on the fly
- Two modes, static or always displaying (described above)
- Called with one line of code
- Protects against multiple votes from the same visitor
- View comments in realtime with ability to limit x number per screen (show most recent to oldest)
- Blink or non blinking to catch visitor's eye
Requirements:
- Perl
- JavaScript enabled web browser
Installation:Vote Voice 2.0 automatically installs on your web site in seconds
Or, follow the below instructions to install manually.
After you place Vote Voice 2.0 in your cgi-bin directory, change the directory settings in the beginning of the script to fit your server, then chmod it to 755.
Now, just place either of the below codes on any of your web pages:
For constant displaying on the browser:
<SCRIPT SRC="http://www.yourserver.com/cgi-bin/votevoice20.cgi?filename=file_name"></SCRIPT>
For static display in one position:
<SCRIPT SRC="http://www.yourserver.com/cgi-bin/votevoice20.cgi?filename=file_name&mode=1"></SCRIPT>
Just replace
file_name with the name of the file you want to save all votes too. This is great if you want to run multiple voting campaigns on your site.
You should see the vote box in the right corner of your browser and also below.
"I want to thank you! Finally, there's a site out there that does auto uploads for scripts. Hallelujah!"
